674 Reports of Workplace Deaths in 8 Months – INAIL
Rome: In the first eight months of the year, fatal accidents reported to workplace accident insurance agency INAIL totaled 674. This figure includes a decline in fatalities “at work” and an increase in those occurring during commutes, or while traveling to and from work, the agency stated on Monday.
According to Ansa News Agency, the data from INAIL, updated to August, showed that reports of fatal workplace accidents were 488, marking a decrease of 3% compared to the same period in 2024. In contrast, reports of fatal commuting accidents increased by 8.8%, totaling 186 incidents.
These statistics highlight the ongoing challenges in ensuring safety both in workplaces and during commutes, underscoring the need for continued vigilance and preventive measures.
