10 Doctors Investigated in Perinatal Death at Desenzano Hospital

Brescia: Brescia prosecutors on Monday placed 10 doctors under investigation in the death of a baby being delivered to an Eastern European woman at Desenzano hospital at the end of January, a tragedy also marked by the suicide of another doctor three days after the incident. The doctor did not leave a note explaining why he had decided to throw himself off a bridge at Trento.

According to Ansa News Agency, the entire remaining operating team involved in the infant’s death has now been placed under investigation to establish possible negligent manslaughter. The probe aims to uncover any lapses in protocol or care that may have contributed to the tragic outcome.
