Worker Crushed to Death at Plastics Plant Near Chieti

Chieti: A worker was crushed to death overnight at a plastics plant at Torino di Sangro, in the central province of Chieti, sources said on Tuesday. The 52-year-old man was reportedly hit by a bale of polymers weighing one tonne.

According to Ansa News Agency, workplace deaths are a significant issue in Italy, and Premier Giorgia Meloni’s government has emphasized that boosting health and safety is a priority. Work-related deaths in Italy rose by one last year to 1,202, as reported by workplace accident and occupation illness insurance agency INAIL in its annual report in July.
