Woman Admits to Dismembering Son’s Body After Murder

Gemona del friuli: A 61-year-old woman has confessed to murdering her 35-year-old son and subsequently dismembering his body into three parts. This confession was made before prosecutors and a preliminary investigations judge, sources revealed on Monday.

According to Ansa News Agency, the dismembered body of Alessandro Venier was discovered in the basement of his home in Gemona del Friuli last week. This gruesome discovery followed a call to the police by his wife, a 30-year-old Colombian woman named Mailyn Castro Monsalvo. The motive behind the murder was reportedly linked to domestic abuse that Venier inflicted on his wife and her fear for her life, especially given his plans to relocate the family to Colombia with their baby boy.

“I took care of Alexander’s ‘dismemberment’ myself,” Lorena Venier, a nurse by profession, reportedly told the judge. She detailed how she used a hacksaw and a sheet to contain the blood, ensuring that there were no blood splatters, which allowed the Carabinieri police to find everything in order.

The sources indicated that Lorena Venier had planned to eventually dispose of the remains in the mountains. However, the plan was thwarted when Castro Monsalvo confessed to the murder over the phone. Lorena Venier stated that Castro Monsalvo was only involved in moving the remains, sources confirmed.
