Wars Without Rules, Human Rights Violated Says Mattarella
Rome: Wars are being waged around the world without respecting rules and flagrantly infringing human rights, President Sergio Mattarella said Thursday. “Serious attacks underway in many parts of the planet are dramatically affecting fundamental human rights,” he wrote in a message sent to the President of the Italian Society of International Law and European Union Law.
According to Ansa News Agency, Mattarella emphasized that force is increasingly being proposed as the measure of relations between states, rather than law. He expressed concern over the plight of civilian populations who are victims of armed conflicts without rules and without measure, in open violation of international humanitarian law.
