Vatican Expresses Shock Over Recent Drone Strike in Gaza
Vatican city: The Vatican has expressed shock over recent events in Gaza, where five journalists were among more than 20 individuals killed in an Israeli army drone strike on a hospital in Khan Younis on Monday, according to Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
According to Ansa News Agency, Cardinal Parolin voiced the Vatican’s dismay over the situation in Gaza while speaking to journalists at the National Liturgical Week inauguration ceremony in Naples. He emphasized the global outcry over the incident, stating, “We remain stunned by what is happening in Gaza, despite the worldwide condemnation.”
Parolin further highlighted the growing complexity of the situation, particularly from a humanitarian viewpoint, commenting, “Here too, it seems that there is currently no glimmer of hope for a solution and that the situation is becoming increasingly complicated.”
