Colin Stewart, Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) in Cyprus and Head of UNFICYP, met on Wednesday with Finland’s new ambassador Paivi Peltokoski.
According to a post on X, Stewart said he met with Peltokoski for a brief on the UN peacebuilding efforts on the island.
Cyprus has been divided since 1974 when Turkish troops invaded and occupied the island’s northern third.
