Tragic Accident: 14-Year-Old Girl Fatally Struck by Train While Listening to Music

Cesano Maderno: A 14-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by a train at a level crossing in Cesano Maderno, located in the Monza and Brianza area. The incident occurred Wednesday night around 7:00 PM, as the girl attempted to cross the railway tracks despite the barriers being down.

According to Ansa News Agency, preliminary investigations suggest that the tragedy was not a deliberate act. It appears the young girl was wearing headphones and failed to notice the approaching regional train bound for Milan. This unfortunate accident at the level crossing has reignited concerns among the citizens of the Brianza municipality of Cesano Maderno, as several similar fatal incidents have occurred at the same location in the past.

In response to these recurring tragedies, an agreement for the construction of a railway overpass at this specific section of the track was reportedly signed just under a year ago. The agreement involved collaboration between Ferrovie Nord and the municipal administration, aimed at enhancing safety measures and preventing further mishaps.
