TIM Returns to Italian Ownership as Poste Italiane Increases Stake
Rome: TIM is back in Italian hands after State-controlled postal-and-financial-services company Poste Italiane announced that it had replaced Vivendi as the telecommunications group’s top stakeholder following the acquisition of 15% of it from the French group.
According to Ansa News Agency, the 684-million-euro transaction increased Poste Italiane’s total stake in the former state monopoly operator to 24.81%. This development follows Poste Italiane’s acquisition of 9.81% of TIM’s shares from Italian State development lender CDP on 15 February.
