Third Campania West Nile Death Takes Total Up to Seven
Campania: Campania has registered its third West Nile Virus death, increasing the total number of victims of the mosquito-borne disease to seven across Italy since the start of the year, sources said Tuesday.
According to Ansa News Agency, Lazio, the region that includes Rome, has also recorded three West Nile Virus deaths in recent weeks. Additionally, a person succumbed to the virus in Piedmont several months ago.
The most recent victim was a 68-year-old man from Trentola Ducenta, located in the province of Caserta, who passed away in a hospital late on Monday.
