Tajani Hails Light of Hope After Two Years of Horrors

Rome: Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani expressed satisfaction on Monday after Hamas started to release Israeli hostages and said Italy was ready to contribute to a lasting peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “Another light of hope is lit from the Middle East after two years of horrors,” Tajani said via X.

According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani emphasized the significance of the ceasefire and described it as a step forward on a fragile path transitioning from war to peace. He highlighted the uncertainty that remains and underscored the responsibility of European governments, together with their Arab world counterparts, to consolidate and build conditions for enduring peace.

Tajani affirmed Italy’s commitment to the concept of “2 peoples 2 States”, stressing that it should not remain an empty slogan. He assured that Italy would work with loyalty and conviction to ensure that the two peoples can find peace with respect and security.
