Tajani Collaborates with Israel to Revive Food for Gaza Program
Jerusalem: Italy is actively collaborating with Israel to revive its Food for Gaza program, as announced by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. The initiative aims to facilitate the delivery of Italian food aid directly to the Palestinian population, bypassing Hamas.
According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani stated that Italy is engaging with Israel, the Palestinian National Authority, and the UN World Food Programme to establish a passage for aid. The goal is to ensure that the Food for Gaza project can re-enter the territory and deliver assistance directly to those in need.
Tajani emphasized the commitment of Italian diplomats, including the ambassador to Israel, the consul in Jerusalem, and ambassadors to the UN and FAO, who are all striving to expedite the aid process. He highlighted that this endeavor is a priority for Italy and mentioned plans to discuss the matter with Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar.
