Stellantis to halt Mirafiori production till November

Stellantis told labour unions on Tuesday that it will extend a suspension of production of the electric 500 Fiat car at the Mirafiori plant in Turin until November 1 .

The company explained the decision was due to poor demand of electric vehicles in Europe, “even though the 500e in the first eight months of the year represented 40% of sales in the EV (electric vehicle) segment of city cars in Europe”.

Stellantis had previously stated that production would be halted until October 11.
