Stellantis Chairman Elkann Met Trump at White House
Washington: Stellantis Chairman John Elkann met United States President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday, a spokesperson for the Italian-American-French auto group said on Tuesday, confirming US media reports.
According to Ansa News Agency, Trump reportedly expressed his desire to reinstate less stringent emission standards for cars during the meeting. Discussions also included tariffs and the competitiveness of the American car industry. Elkann, along with other US auto executives, reportedly emphasized the importance of having clarity for the car market.
Stellantis employs approximately 75,000 people in the United States and sells around 1.4 million cars annually in the country, generating revenue of about 63.5 billion euros.
