Sogei CEO Cannarsa under Investigation in Graft Case

Rome: Cristiano Cannarsa, the CEO of public IT agency Sogei, is under investigation, sources said on Tuesday. Finance police have conducted searches at Cannarsa’s home and offices to gather evidence related to the ongoing probe.

According to Ansa News Agency, Cannarsa’s case is connected to that of Paolino Iorio, the former general manager of the State-owned company, who was arrested last year. Iorio was allegedly caught red-handed accepting a 15,000-euro bribe from an entrepreneur concerning a contract.

Cannarsa’s investigation follows statements made by Iorio, who recently requested to plea-bargain for a three-year term. The investigation pertains to a proposed contract valued at 1.5 million euros for a cybersecurity and AI company.
