Rome: The Senate has definitively approved a bill focused on job preservation for individuals diagnosed with cancer. The legislation aims to provide employment security and support for those battling cancer and other disabling or chronic diseases.

According to Ansa News Agency, the bill was passed unanimously by all Senate groups. It addresses the rights of individuals affected by cancer or rare chronic diseases, granting them leave or the option to suspend self-employment. For employees who take leave, the law ensures they have priority when entering individual smart working agreements upon their return.

Additionally, the law establishes a fund for degree awards, dedicated to honoring patients who have battled cancer diseases.
