Second West Nile Virus Victim Confirmed in Lazio
Lazio: Lazio has registered its second West Nile Virus victim after a 77-year-old man died of it early on Monday at Rome’s Spallanzani infectious diseases hospital. An 82-year-old woman also died of the disease in the region earlier this month.
According to Ansa News Agency, the latest victim reportedly lived in the province of Latina, to the south of Rome, where there has been a cluster of West Nile Virus cases. It was noted that he had been in Baia Domizia, in the province of Caserta, recently. The victim had other health problems and had undergone a heart transplant, sources said.
