Sanremo: The Sanremo Song Festival captivated a massive TV audience of approximately 13.6 million viewers, achieving a remarkable 70.8% share during its fourth night, dedicated to a contest featuring covers of popular hits. The event continued its tradition of drawing widespread attention and excitement among audiences.
According to Ansa News Agency, singers Giorgia and Annalisa emerged victorious in the contest with their rendition of Adele’s hit song “Skyfall,” adding yet another highlight to the festival’s storied history. The night was further enlivened by the spirited opening performance from comic, actor, and director Roberto Benigni, who entertained the audience with his lively and humorous take on various public figures, including Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Giorgia. Benigni also expressed his admiration for President Sergio Mattarella, who recently attracted criticism from the Kremlin for his comments comparing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to Germany’s invasion of Poland.
