Russian Violation of NATO Airspace Unacceptable, Says Meloni

Warsaw: Premier Giorgia Meloni expressed condemnation on Wednesday after Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland’s airspace had been violated by Russian drones overnight. “On behalf of the Italian Government, I express full solidarity with Poland following Russia’s serious and unacceptable violation of Polish and NATO airspace,” Meloni said in a statement.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni further emphasized Italy’s commitment to European security, stating, “Italy will continue to work to ensure Europe’s security, starting with the security of Ukraine, and to reach a just and lasting peace.” The overnight incident has raised significant concerns among NATO members, highlighting the ongoing tensions between Russia and the alliance.
