This development marks the beginning of a formal investigation into the matter.

According to Ansa News Agency, the postal police’s report is the first step in a process that will lead to the opening of a case file. Given the widespread nature of complaints across Italy, there is a possibility that other prosecutor’s offices might become involved as well. The Postal Police have initiated investigations to identify those responsible for operating these platforms, and efforts are underway to trace the authors behind the sexist and offensive comments found on the sites.

Premier Giorgia Meloni, who has been identified as one of the victims in this case, has publicly condemned the websites, describing them as “disgusting” and asserting that they engage in the crime of revenge porn.
