Residents Isolated in 14 Municipalities After Severe Floods and Landslides in Tuscany
Florence: Rescue operations were ongoing in 14 municipalities near Florence after residents remained isolated due to floods and landslides caused by heavy rain and storms that pummelled Tuscany on Friday, the local prefecture said on Saturday.
According to Ansa News Agency, rescue operations were carried out in Capraia and Limite, Fucecchio, Rufina, Scandicci, and Sesto, as many people remained isolated due to floods, Florence’s prefecture said.
Residents in nine other municipalities – Barberino del Mugello, Borgo san Lorenzo, Calenzano, Lastra a Signa, Marradi, Palazzuolo sul Senio, Scarperia e San Piero, and Vaglia – were isolated due to landslides, according to the same source.
