Record Profit of 511 Million Euros, Banco BPM Raises Guidance

Milan: Banco BPM closed the first quarter of the year with a profit of 511 million euros, marking its best quarterly result ever. This figure represents a 38% increase compared to the same period in 2024 and rises to 549 million euros when including the full integration of Anima.

According to Ansa News Agency, the institute has revised its 2025 guidance upwards. The new estimate predicts a net profit of approximately 1.95 billion euros, driven by a performance that surpasses the expectations outlined in its strategic plan.

Last month, UniCredit expressed strong disapproval of the conditions set by the government for the approval of its bid to take over Banco BPM. UniCredit, which is Italy’s second-largest bank, initiated a hostile bid for BPM, the third-largest, several months ago.
