Racist Attack on Bus in Centre of Rome: Four Young Men Allegedly Assault North African Migrant
Rome: Four young men allegedly staged a racially motivated attack on a North African migrant on a bus in the center of Rome, police reported after reviewing surveillance camera footage of the incident. The attack involved verbal abuse and physical assault, resulting in the theft of the victim’s personal belongings.
According to Ansa News Agency, the surveillance footage shows the men surrounding the migrant, hurling racial slurs, and threatening him. The assailants then proceeded to physically attack the man with kicks and punches, causing him to fall. During the assault, they reportedly stole his watch and phone.
The incident, which occurred on a bus in the heart of Rome, was perpetrated by four Italian youths. Their identities were confirmed through video surveillance systems. Following the investigation, the Carabinieri executed an order for precautionary measures against the four individuals involved. One of the men, aged 21, is now under house arrest with an electronic bracelet. The other three, aged between 19 and 20, are required to remain at home with a restriction on leaving their residences during the night.
