Porsche Halts Plan for Testing Center in Puglia
Puglia: Porsche has announced the suspension of its development plan for a new testing center in Puglia, citing a “complicated context” for the auto sector influenced by factors such as US President Donald Trump’s 25% tariffs on car imports to the USA.
According to Ansa News Agency, the German sportscar maker stated that it would not proceed with the development plan for the Nard² Technical Center (NTC), which is managed by Porsche Engineering. The Puglia Region had initially suspended the program agreement required for the project’s approval in March 2024, with the suspension now extended to the end of March 2025.
Despite halting the development plan, Porsche emphasized that testing activities would continue at the existing site. The decision was influenced by the increasingly complex global context and the ongoing changes in the automotive sector.
