Pope Urges Christian Policymakers to Work for Peace


Vatican City: Pope Francis said in his Angelus prayer on Sunday that Christian policymakers needed to work for peace. “During this Jubilee Year, I renew the appeal, in particular to those in government of Christian faith, for the utmost commitment in negotiations to end ongoing conflicts,” noted the pontiff.



According to Ansa News Agency, Pope Francis emphasized the importance of striving for peace during his address. He highlighted the need for prayers for peace in several troubled regions, including Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, Sudan, and North Kivu. The pontiff reminded his audience that “war is always a defeat,” urging the global community to keep this in mind.
