Pope ‘Rested Well Throughout the Night’ Says Vatican
Rome: The Vatican announced on Tuesday that “Pope Francis rested well throughout the night,” at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital.
According to Ansa News Agency, the Vatican press office had previously stated on Monday that the condition of the 88-year-old Argentine pontiff had shown a slight improvement. This update came after reports that he was in a critical state following respiratory crises experienced on Saturday.
Francis was admitted to the hospital on February 14 and is currently being treated for bronchitis and double pneumonia. A health update provided last week also indicated that he has mild renal insufficiency. However, it was noted that this condition appears to be under control.
