Pope Leo XIV Highlights Concerns Over Anti-Semitism and Plans for Peace Mission
Rome: Pope Leo XIV expressed concern over the acts of anti-Semitism, describing them as truly worrying during a press briefing as he departed from Castel Gandolfo. He emphasized the importance of promoting peace and respect for human dignity.
According to Ansa News Agency, the Pope stated his first international trip will include visits to Turkey and Lebanon. These locations were chosen to commemorate significant historical and cultural events and to deliver a message of peace to the Middle East. Pope Leo XIV mentioned that his visit to Turkey is timed with the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea. Meanwhile, the visit to Lebanon aims to reiterate the call for peace in a region that has experienced prolonged suffering.
The Pope conveyed his hopes to spread peace and hope during his journey, underscoring the Catholic Church’s commitment to fostering global harmony and understanding. As he left Villa Barberini in Castel Gandolfo, he reiterated his message of peace for the Middle East, reflecting on the
