Pope Francis Finds Blessing in Fragility Amid Hospital Stay
Rome: There is a blessing in the fragility of the sick, Pope Francis said Sunday during the weekly Angelus prayer from his hospital bed in Rome, where he is battling pneumonia.
According to Ansa News Agency, the Pope, for the third consecutive Sunday, sent the written text of the Angelus from Gemelli Hospital. He expressed gratitude to the doctors and health workers for their care and compassion during his hospital stay.
“I send you these thoughts again from the hospital, where as you know I have been for several days, accompanied by doctors and health workers, whom I thank for the attention with which they take care of me,” Pope Francis wrote. He emphasized the ‘blessing’ found in fragility, as it encourages greater trust in the Lord. He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share in the experiences of many sick and suffering individuals.
