Police Arrest Eight Over ‘Train Assault by Udinese Fans’


Milan: Police in the northeastern city of Udine: have arrested eight people over a train assault on Saturday night by Udinese ultra fans, investigative sources said Sunday.



According to Ansa News Agency, the eight suspects were caught red-handed by police and charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, blocking rail traffic, using fireworks and sticks during football matches. The eight have also been banned from attending sporting events, according to the sources.



They include five Austrians and a Bosnian citizen, all residing in Austria, as well as an Albanian and an Italian living in Udine. Another Italian citizen was reported to the authorities but remains free.
