PM Orbán Emphasizes Hungary’s Need to Stay Out of Looming European Conflict

Kecskemét: Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, during the Kecskemét leg of the Digital Civic Circles tour, underscored the significance of Hungary’s upcoming 2026 parliamentary elections against the backdrop of a growing international crisis. ‘Next year’s election will be the last before the war,’ Orbán stated. ‘If we have a Brussels-backed government, they will drag us into war. If we have a national government, we still have a chance to stay out of it.’

According to About Hungary, Orbán engaged in a comprehensive dialogue with Jeno Csiszár, addressing critical geopolitical issues alongside personal insights. He emphasized that all other concerns are secondary to the matter of war and peace. Orbán painted a picture of a Europe on the brink of conflict, warning that European leaders have set an official policy to prepare for war by 2030. He outlined Europe’s progression through a four-step escalation: severing diplomatic ties, transitioning economies to a war footing, reinstating conscription, and gearing up for di
rect military engagement.

The Prime Minister called for prayer and strength, questioning whether Hungary could remain uninvolved in the conflict. He stressed the necessity of fortifying Hungary to maintain its autonomy and peace stance. Highlighting the allure of war, he urged rejection of such narratives in favor of peace.

Orbán criticized the European Union’s actions that have sidelined Hungary in sanctions policies, describing it as disrespectful and hypocritical. He argued for competent leadership to navigate these challenges, revealing ongoing preparations for post-election economic strategies in collaboration with the United States and Russia.

On the topic of Europe’s war readiness, Orbán contrasted Hungary’s historical suffering in past world conflicts with Western perspectives that view war as economically beneficial. He warned that decisions are shifting away from political leaders, stressing the need for diplomacy to retain its influence.

Discussing economic policies, Orbán delineated the ideolo
gical divide between left and right, associating the left with increased taxation and the right with tax reductions. He also addressed recent scandals, particularly focusing on child protection, highlighting significant increases in the imprisonment of pedophiles under his administration.

Concluding, Orbán pointed to Hungary’s national development achievements, citing substantial investments in infrastructure and education. He closed with a commitment to safeguarding Hungary’s future, asserting the importance of keeping the nation out of war for the sake of future generations.
