Parliament Elects Four Constitutional Court Judges
Rome: Ajoint session of Parliament on Thursday voted to fill four vacancies on the country’s 15-member Constitutional Court, electing as judges Francesco Saverio Marini, Roberto Cassinelli, Massimo Luciani, Maria Alessandra Sandulli.
According to Ansa News Agency, the green light came with an agreement between the parties following 14 votes for a judge and five for the other three, to reach the necessary quorum of three-fifths of the votes.
The indication for a united vote on the four names was issued with a text message sent to the phones of Senators and members of the House, according to parliamentary sources.
