Vatican City: Over 250,000 people attended Pope Francis’s funeral, according to the information provided by the Vatican from the “competent authorities” as the service was closing on Saturday. Rome police reported that thousands of faithful had already gathered early on Saturday along the six-kilometre route of the late pontiff’s funeral procession from St Peter’s to Rome’s Basilica of Saint Mary Major, where he will be laid to rest.
