No Contract or Deals with SpaceX Says PM’s Office

Rome: No contract or deals between Italy and Elon Musk’s satellite programme SpaceX were discussed in Premier Giorgia Meloni’s talks with US President-elect Donald Trump in Florida Sunday, the PM’s office at Palazzo Chigi in Rome said Monday, describing such reports as “ridiculous”.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Presidency of the Council firmly denied any contractual agreements with SpaceX for the utilization of the Starlink satellite communications system. A statement from Palazzo Chigi emphasized that discussions with SpaceX are part of routine inquiries that the State conducts with companies that specialize in secure connections for encrypted data communication needs.

The statement further clarified that it is “simply ridiculous” to suggest that the SpaceX topic was addressed during the meeting with President-elect Donald Trump, underscoring that no discussions on such matters took place. The Italian Government remains committed to transparent communication and refutes any speculation suggesting otherwise.
