Nationwide Train Strike Causes Disruption

Rome: A nationwide strike of Italian railway workers called by the Usb, Sgb, and PDM/PDB unions was causing disruption for passengers on Friday, with some services delayed and others cancelled outright. Trenitalia, Italy’s primary train operator, advised passengers to check in advance to see if their train was running before going to the station.

According to Ansa News Agency, in Naples, for example, three high-speed services to Milan and a regional service to Rome were among those cancelled. The strike, which began on Thursday evening, is set to continue until 18:00 on Friday.
