Motorcyclist Struck by Lightning on State Road 275 in Salento

Salento: A 42-year-old tourist from Rome died after being struck by lightning while riding his motorcycle on State Road 275 between Nociglia and Surano in Lower Salento.

According to Ansa News Agency, the incident occurred on Monday amid a thunderstorm that had affected the area. The lightning strike reportedly threw the motorcyclist from his vehicle, resulting in his electrocution.

Local Carabinieri and paramedics were dispatched to the scene following the incident. The tourist was identified as a resident of Rome who was vacationing in Salento at the time of the tragedy.
