Miklós Soltész: The Hungarian government also pays attention to the smallest

The government of Hungary pays attention to even the smallest if they want to fight, said Miklós Soltész, the State Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for church and ethnic relations, and the vice-president of the KDNP in Buza, Transylvania.

The KDNP politician took part in the opening ceremony of the Reformed church home of the scattered settlement in Cluj County. The 440 enthusiastic Reformed congregation of the Mezoség village built a new church building next to the church consecrated in 2006 with Hungarian state support.

In his celebratory speech , Miklós Soltész compared the congregation in Buza to a mustard seed, which, although small, is “bigger than anything else” when it grows. “What you do is like a mustard seed in the life of the nation,” he said, recalling the parable of the mustard seed. He emphasized that the faith and perseverance of the small scattered congregation gives strength to the entire nation, wherever its members live in the Carpathian Basin.

He underlined:

He recalled the admonitions of St. István to Prince Imre, and highlighted the idea of ??the founding king in which he warned to keep the covenant with God, pointing out that the fate of the people who turn their backs on God will be dispersion and destruction.

Miklós Soltész thanked the Buza congregation for not turning their backs on God and for building a church on their own at a time when they could not count on the help of the Hungarian government at the time. As he said

Vilmos Kolumbán , chief clerk of the church district and deputy bishop, recalled in his sermon at the thanksgiving service: God gave man the ability and freedom to think and create, but also th

he said. He added: while the church and its traditions are being attacked more and more ideologically, the construction of the meeting house shows that there is still a need for community buildings in Transylvania, in the Carpathian Basin.

The pastor of Buza J. István Kovács said: in 2006, the dilapidated building of the old kindergarten, which could not be renovated, was returned to the Reformed parish. The new church building was built in its place with the support of the Hungarian government, because they could not have done it on their own, he said. On the ground floor, a room and kitchen suitable for accommodating 80 people, and three guest rooms on the first floor, were designed and equipped.

Deputy Bishop Vilmos Kolumbán blessed the building that hosts community events.

At the ceremony, the chief registr
ar of the diocese János Fekete , the mayor István Czeghér , István Vákár , the vice president of the Cluj county municipality, Róza Czirmayné Kocsis , the widow of the late Árpád Czirmay, a priest born in Buza, and the priests of Hajdúböszörmény also said their greetings. The occasion was made more festive by the performance of the local children and young people, the Bza folk singers Anna Takács and Piroska Takács, and the recital of the Cluj-Napoca dramatist Zsolt Bogdán .
