Meloni Meets Zelensky in Copenhagen Before Returning to Rome for Budget Talks
Copenhagen: Premier Giorgia Meloni on Thursday met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the European Political Community meeting in Copenhagen and then flew back to Rome for a cabinet meeting on the financial and economic blueprint for the 2026 budget, the DPFP, sources said. Meloni met Zelensky since she is unable to attend the afternoon E5 meeting with the United Kingdom, Denmark, France, and Germany on the situation in Ukraine – the so-called Coalition of the Willing.
According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni’s meeting with Zelensky highlights the ongoing diplomatic engagements between Italy and Ukraine amidst the broader European discussions on security and financial strategies. The cabinet meeting in Rome is expected to address critical financial plans that will shape Italy’s economic trajectory through 2026.
