Meloni Discusses Ukraine Conflict with India’s Modi
Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni spoke on the telephone to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, and the war in Ukraine was among the issues discussed, her office said.
According to Ansa News Agency, the two leaders expressed satisfaction with the excellent state of bilateral relations, reaffirming their shared commitment to further deepen the Italy-India Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029. They emphasized strengthening cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, and connectivity, including through the India, Middle East, Europe Corridor (IMEC).
The telephone conversation also provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on the latest developments in the war in Ukraine. The two leaders shared their commitment to support all international efforts to promote a ceasefire and a resumption of negotiations to achieve a just and lasting peace.
