Mediobanca 6-Month Profit Up 8% to Record 660 Million Euros

Milan: Italy’s premier merchant bank Mediobanca on Monday reported a six-month profit increase of 8%, reaching a record 660 million euros. The Milan-based investment bank is currently under a takeover bid by Italy’s third-largest bank, Monte dei Paschi di Siena. Mediobanca also reported a 75% increase in earnings, amounting to 1.848 billion euros.

According to Ansa News Agency, the bank has raised its targets for the year 2026. The significant growth in profit and earnings reflects Mediobanca’s strong performance in the financial sector, even amid a potential acquisition. The decision to adjust future targets suggests confidence in continued growth and stability.
