Mattarella Expresses Confidence in Police Chief Amidst Racism Concerns

Rome: President Sergio Mattarella on Wednesday invited Italy’s chief of police to the presidential Quirinale Palace, voicing esteem and trust in him after a Council of Europe panel urged Italy to address racism within its police forces.

According to Ansa News Agency, the President of the Republic has invited the Chief of Police and Director General of Public Security, Vittorio Pisani, to a meeting on Thursday morning. This meeting aims to reconfirm the Republic’s esteem and trust in the police force, whose actions are inspired by the democratic spirit and the values of the Constitution, as stated in a note released by the Quirinale.
