Mattarella Calls for ‘Concrete Peace’ in Ukraine, Mideast


Rome: President Sergio Mattarella on Monday called for real peace in Ukraine and in the Middle East during celebrations for the 164th anniversary of the Day of National Unity, the Constitution, the anthem, and the flag in Rome.



According to Ansa News Agency, the president emphasized the importance of each citizen’s commitment to furthering the Republic’s ideals of freedom and justice. He urged action in addressing challenges to achieve concrete peace in an international context where aggression has taken precedence, specifically highlighting Ukraine and the Middle East.



Mattarella also reflected on how National Unity Day serves as a reminder of the values on which the Italian community is founded. He encouraged aspirations towards creating a more cohesive and inclusive society, one that looks towards the future with confidence, within the framework of a united Europe.
