Man Sets Fire and Causes Panic at Milan’s Malpensa Airport
Milan: A man was arrested at Milan’s Malpensa-Silvio Berlusconi Airport after going on a rampage and setting a fire in a waste bin, spooking travellers.
According to Ansa News Agency, the incident occurred at Terminal 1, where the man ignited a fire in a trash can, resulting in large flames near Gate 13 and causing alarm among passengers. In addition to the fire, the man began smashing check-in screens with a hammer, further escalating the chaos.
Security personnel from SEA, the company responsible for managing the airport, subdued the man, and he was subsequently arrested by Polaria airport police. In response to the incident, firefighters intervened, evacuating the terminal as a precaution while they worked to secure the area.
Following the swift actions of the airport’s security and emergency teams, operations at the airport resumed without further disruptions.
