Bologna: A 71-year-old man tragically took the life of his 64-year-old wife before ending his own at Altedo, near Bologna. The incident unfolded on Wednesday when the man used a firearm to fatally shoot his wife, who had been suffering from a prolonged illness, and subsequently turned the weapon on himself.
According to Ansa News Agency, the Carabinieri discovered the bodies at around 7:30 AM after being alerted by a nurse who was caring for the woman. The nurse’s prompt call to authorities led to the swift discovery of the unfortunate events.
The woman had been battling illness for an extended period, which might have been a factor leading up to the tragic incident. The case remains under investigation as authorities seek to understand the full circumstances surrounding the event.
