Man Confesses to Killing Partner in Civitavecchia in Italy’s Latest Femicide

Civitavecchia: A man confessed to fatally stabbing his partner at their residence in Civitavecchia, a port near Rome, before surrendering himself to the Carabinieri police, sources revealed.

According to Ansa News Agency, the individual, identified as a 54-year-old Venezuelan citizen, admitted to the crime during his confession at the police station. The authorities discovered the woman’s body in the building’s hallway, which was part of their apartment complex, with stab wounds to her stomach.

Italy has been grappling with a concerning increase in femicides and cases of gender-based violence. This incident adds to the growing list of such tragedies that have sparked nationwide discussions on the issue.
