Milan: Giorgio Armani was and will always be Fashion with a capital F, Lombardy Governor Attilio Fontana said in bidding farewell to one of the region’s favourite sons Thursday after the legendary designer died at 91.

According to Ansa News Agency, Fontana expressed the profound loss felt by the Lombardy Region, stating, “Lombardy loses a true pillar, the world loses a master.” He extended condolences to Armani’s family, friends, and the entire community, recognizing Armani as a monumental figure who defined Italian style and elegance globally.

Fontana highlighted Armani’s significant contributions, noting, “He transformed creativity into a universal language, elevating Made in Italy to a symbol of excellence on every stage.” The governor continued to honor Armani as a “visionary craftsman” who remained true to his roots while continuously reinventing himself.
