Leonardo Working on Low-Orbit Satellite Constellation


Rome: Italian aerospace and defence giant Leonardo is working on a low-orbit satellite constellation, CEO Roberto Cingolani said Tuesday.



According to Ansa News Agency, Leonardo is planning to launch the constellation between 2027 and 2028, which will include both military and civil satellites. The project aims to deploy 18 military satellites, with 6 of these equipped with infrared capabilities, alongside 20 satellites designated for civilian use. Cingolani shared these details while presenting an update of the industrial plan to the financial community.
