League Demands Apology from John Elkann Over Remarks

Rome: John Elkann’s remarks have been labeled as shameful by the right-wing League party, which has called for him to apologize to Italian workers. This follows a statement issued on Wednesday after the Stellantis president addressed Parliament.

According to Ansa News Agency, the League party criticized Elkann for what they described as the “umpteenth, shameful joke.” They argued that Elkann’s group expanded with the financial support of Italians, only to later dismiss them in favor of investing and hiring abroad.

The League’s note further condemned the strategy of prioritizing electric vehicles, claiming it contributes to the destruction of the car sector in Italy and Europe. The statement concluded by demanding Elkann apologize to the workers and return the billions allegedly profited from Italy.
