Kombos holds meetings with FMs of UAE and Kazakhstan in New York


The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, who is in New York for the High Level Week of the 79th UN General Assembly, had on Wednesday meetings with other Foreign Ministers. More specifically Kombos met with the Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Kazakhstan.

According to a press release, Kombos was present on September 25 during the delivery of the speech of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, at the United Nations General Assembly.

He also accompanied the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides to a lunch hosted by the Hellenic American Council, as well as to the meeting that President Christodoulides had with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati.

It is added that in the afternoon, Kombos had a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the main topics of discussion being the strengthening of the already close relations between Cyprus and the UAE and regional developments.

More
over, Kombos had an exchange of views with the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, focusing on the further expansion of Cyprus-Kazakhstan cooperation.

Finally, in the afternoon, the Foreign Minister attended the extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, during which UN Secretary General António Guterres briefed the Council on the situation in Lebanon.
