Japan a Friend, Relations with Italy Healthy Says Mattarella

Kyoto: Japan is an important country on the international scenario and a friend of Italy, Italian President Sergio Mattarella said on Thursday in Kyoto, the second leg of his visit to the country. After Kyoto, the president will travel to Hiroshima on Saturday for the last stage of his mission to Japan.

According to Ansa News Agency, Mattarella emphasized Japan’s significance in the international dimension and highlighted the deepening friendship between the two nations. The Italian President expressed optimism that this relationship would continue to evolve positively in the near future during a meeting in Kyoto with a delegation of Italians residing in the area.

The discussion also focused on the “precious cooperation” between Rome and Tokyo. Mattarella noted that this collaboration is based on shared values of cohabitation, which he described as the healthiest and most responsible within the international community. He stressed that Japan and Italy are in perfect agreement on these values, underscoring the strong bond between the two countries.
