Jammers to Be Used to Seal Conclave ‘Bunker’

Vatican City: Military jammers will be used to ensure no communication with the outside world from the ‘bunker’ that the Sistine Chapel will become for the conclave to elect a new pope starting Wednesday, the Vatican announced Monday.

According to Ansa News Agency, security procedures for the conclave to select Pope Francis’s successor were finalized at a meeting in the Rome prefecture on Monday. Checkpoints are set to be established around St Peter’s to manage the anticipated influx of faithful from across the globe.

Officials have stated that the security plan will remain adaptable, allowing modifications based on circumstances and the number of attendees expected to gather from various regions worldwide.
